Protura is one of the most primitive branches of insects, and does not have members of economic importance.
Proturans lack antennae, however they hold their front legs in a position to look like antennae. They also have an abdomen with 12 segments.
In the Order Protura, there are three families. These families are: Eosentomidae, Protentomidae, and Acerentomidae. The differences in the families are in there tracheal system (Or lack thereof) and their abdomimal appendages.
